The Lyons lived in San Bernardino and commuted to downtown Los Angeles for work. Their daughter, now 22 and attending college, swam against the Friendly Hills Country Club at the age of 9. At that time the entire Lyons family just fell in love with the people, family atmosphere, and the lush deep forest like trees with trails on the hillsides. In 1998 they purchased a home with a view of the golf course, a desire they sought out. In 2003, the Lyons decided to make some renovations and hired a contractor by the name of Pete Baccaro. They came to find out that Pete's mother was original builder of the Lyons' home! It was meant to be. The craftsman style home with plush grounds, natural stone throughout by The Fix Pavement Co with pool designed by Premier Pool Builders is perfect for entertaining. The traditional interior design decorated by Mrs. Lyons, with help from Through The Garden Gate, provides a warm stylish feel the family calls home. |

Mr. & Mrs. Edgar Butts moved to Whittier in 1948 before purchasing their current residence over 35 years ago. The property across the street was a horse stable prior to being a home, times have changed! The primary reason they nestled in Friendly Hills was price and size. In 2005, the family decided to redesign the garage, install a new roof, and create a circular driveway highlighted by pillars all made by brick. Their friends and neighbors call it the "Brickyard" house. Their son, Terry, who runs the family business - Jeffery's Farm here locally - architecturally designed the brick work, of course with mom's vision. Terry can be reached at 760-464-1383.
